Greetings SaberCat Nation:
Welcome to the Summer and Fall of 2020. Know that your Family’s health is on our mind every day. With all of the uncertainty, health and safety is our main priority. At this time, I have no information about what the Football Season will look like. We are optimistic and driven to be prepared for the traditional starting date of August 10, 2020. However, we will abide with any decisions made by the Governments, PSD, and CHSSA.
Our morning sessions have been fantastic. The number of student-athletes working out at Twin Silo was unbelievable. The OL/DL were improving their craft at Harmony Park. One of the true focal points was guiding the incoming 9th graders in the evenings at Twin Silo. Welcome 9th graders! We are thrilled by your presence in Fossil Ridge Football. It is a privilege to work with such fine young men. All workouts are 100% VOLUNTARY and athletes who do not attend, due to any reasons or circumstances, are not frowned upon.
I would be remiss if I did not also thank the Assistant Coaches. Behind the scenes, they have been operating as consummate professionals. They have the same goals and motivations as the players. They have given their time and talents to make the fall of 2020 productive. I thoroughly enjoy and admire watching them be mentors and character – based instructors. Our staff is wholeheartedly dedicated to “growing young men.” Come out and watch, you’ll agree.
In closing, I would like to sincerely thank all of the SaberCat families for being so understanding and flexible as we try to adapt to the pandemic. Remember, nothing is more important than your Family’s health. Also, I am grateful that you trust us with your son.
I have a quote to share with you from the Head Football Coach at Clemson. Dabo Sweeney said, “Winning Football games is hard. It is hard if you’re connected. It’s impossible if you aren’t.”
Harmony First!
